Natural Free Range Pork from the Highlands of Scotland
Cairngorm Pork is based in a 3 acre plot of land situated above the town of Grantown on Spey, in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park. It is home to our small collection of pedigree Large Black and Oxford Sandy and Black pigs.
Our aim is to produce a distinctive superior meat from pigs that we know have been reared in a very happy and healthy environment. All our pigs are free range – our paddocks are situated in a sheltered birch wood, where they can enjoy all their natural behaviours such as rooting in the grass. Each area has a cosy ark for lazing in and, more importantly, for shelter from the Scottish weather. They even enjoy views of the Cairngorm Mountains themselves! Our production is unique in the Cairngorm area. From the land to the dinner plate, quality meat is produced within a radius of less than a mile!
From 2010, we will be producing Large Black and Oxford Sandy & Black weaners for those who have a bit of space and wish to fatten their own pigs. We also intend to cross the Oxford Sandy and Black with the Large Black to produce particularly tasty pork.
